Excited for 2013

I am excited to be on the Generations team this year!  Balancing training, fitness, family, kids sports, work, etc. continues to be one of the biggest challenges.

I look forward to the team and workouts together!

Great job this last Sat on our first physical fitness evaluation!

It is amazing how one day I can feel like taking on whatever life (testing, training, running and midterms) throws at me, and the next day I feel like quitting altogether. Today was filled with several tests and homework that still needed to be finished while feeling so tired and defeated that I could barely even eat. I know that I will pop back as soon as I make the mental decision to change my "Attitude", but man today stunk. Here is hoping for a fantastic tomorrow:)

One of the goals that I put on my application for my second degree test this year is to run a half marathon. I have done 5 and 10k runs before, but this is quite the leap for me. I asked Brandy if she could recommend a schedule to follow so I can have more accountability and because I wasn't sure what would work best. As luck would have it I am already following the schedule that she gave me with a few small differences, so I am not starting from square one. Now I know how to keep pushing towards my goal. The shamrock run is right in line with the schedule's suggested mini marathons and the Vernonia marathon (which is the one that I am doing) is right at the schedule's 12 week mark. Its almost like the whole thing worked out perfectly... Please encourage me until Sunday, April 14th. For those of you who know my history, this is like running a triathlon. Who would have thought;) Thank you Dare to Dream for kicking my butt and not letting me quit. You are my reason to push for second degree. And to all you current testers, here is to a fantastic year:)
